I saw Stephen Twigg....

Stephen Twigg made a great statement about how he would enable every school to issue library tickets to every child and that literacy wasn't just a matter of how you teach children to read when they first get into school but that it was about how you foster reading for pleasure throughout schooling and that all the stats and all the research support this. So he said he would follow up the recommendation from Ofsted's report 'Moving English Forward' that every school should devise a Reading for Enjoyment policy and that this country-wide effort would start a national conversation about the importance of reading in a fair and democratic society....

Then I woke up.
