A place where I'll post up some thoughts and ideas - especially on literature in education, children's literature in general, poetry, reading, writing, teaching and thoughts on current affairs.

Witchfinder-general, 'The Commentator' trips over his arse
Interesting attack on me here where I am condemned for apparently being not in favour of trying to teach Standard English and yet in the article that he is citing - here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2012/mar/02/no-correct-grammar-martin-gwynne?INTCMP=SRCH ), I even offer suggestions as to how to teach it and praise it for its 'honourable' tradition of being a 'common means of exchange'. He either didn't read it (oh shock horror for right wing pedant to be caught not reading) or he is deceiving his audience (oh shock horror for right-wing pedant to be caught being not truthful). All this is to keep you posted with right-wing witch-hunting of our time.
